
Acer together with NVIDIA introduced the world’s first NVIDIA ION-based PC, the Acer AspireRevo. No larger than a typical hardcover book, the AspireRevo is a fully capable desktop with advanced graphics and impressive multimedia features. Equipped with NVIDIA ION graphics, the system can handle a wide variety of computing needs including high definition video, gaming, sharing digital photos, surfing the web, and other tasks consumers expect from full-size systems.

HP launched its successor of its TouchSmart PC IQ770 PC with HP TouchSmart IQ500 PC. The IQ500 comes with a much more compact, stylish design, and bigger toch screen panel. HP has made the screen smudge resistant and scratch proof to a certain extent. Design wise, the TouchSmart has been made to resemble a robust messenger bag, donning a small flap located near the bottom edge of the unit. Looking all sleek and shiny, this PC also keeps everything clean with an uncluttered and appealing rear profile. Thankfully, the TouchSmart GUI that replaces the older version of the HP SmartCenter, and delivers a better experience akin to using web 2.0. Intel has boosted the desktop PC performance to a new level by combining two Intel Quad core processors for a total of eight processing engines and a choice of multi-card graphics solutions from either ATI or NVIDIA, the Intel Dual Socket Extreme Desktop Platform. With partnership with Sotec, a Japanese PC manufacturer, Onkyo has released their new HD audio computer, the Onkyo APX-2. Sold under Sotec distribution channel, the APX-2 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 500GB of HDD stick together with a digital audio amplifier. It features a Super Floating HDD Unit, a kind of noise cancellation box (22dB max) to provide a silent machine. Onkyo also bypassed Vista’s volume mixer function and installed Pure Direct Audio Path (PDAP) in order to avoid audio lost due to Vista’s poor HD audio support.
