ASUS has unveiled its adoption of the latest Intel X58 chipset platform for the upcoming Nehalem family of processors from Intel (named as Core i7) with ASUS P6T Deluxe motherboard. The new X58 chipset will have a 1366-pin socket for these new processors and also a new QuickPath Interconnect technology, including an onboard memory controller supporting triple-channel DDR3. This motherboard will support up to 24GB of DDR3-1333 memory, thanks to its six DIMM slots. FOXCONN has launched a new motherboard optimized for low-power Intel processors, which promises to reduce energy costs for businesses whilst still providing a compelling computing experience for office and home users, the FOXCONN 45CMV motherboard. It is based on the Intel 945GC chipset, the 45CMV has been tuned for sub-65W Intel processors, which includes most Intel Core2 Duo models and all Pentium Dual Core and Celeron models. Processors with an average power rating of 65W or less reduce average energy consumption by 36% compared to 95W processors.
